Bernadette is the co-founder and steward of Lizq Oasis, a regenerative agroforestry farm nestled in the foothills of the Hajar Mountains in Oman’s Sharqiyah region. Since 2013, Bernadette, her husband, and a small, dedicated team have transformed 15 acres of untouched scrubland into a thriving food forest and micro eco-retreat — a sanctuary of biodiversity and intentional living.
Today, Lizq Oasis is home to hundreds of date palms, flowering and fruit-bearing trees, frankincense, al-ban (moringa), and a rich variety of medicinal herbs. Situated in Oman’s desert borderlands, a timeless landscape of wide open skies, shifting sands, and ancient trade routes, the farm invites a return to elemental living and a deep reconnection with the land. It is a place where nature flourishes — and so do those who visit.
As host, Bernadette shares her deep-rooted passion for plants, wellness, and ancestral knowledge through private botanical tours, hands-on demonstrations, and seasonal workshops. Visitors learn how to harvest and prepare healing plants such as aloe vera, moringa, and lemongrass for culinary and cosmetic uses — and during date season, how to pollinate the majestic palms using time-honored techniques.
In the cooler months, Lizq Oasis opens its gates for intimate overnight gatherings designed for adults seeking meaningful connection. Experiences include stargazing beneath desert skies, yoga at sunrise, live acoustic music, and Oman’s first ‘plant to plate’ supper club — a celebration of same-day harvests and the farm’s abundant organic produce.
Plan your visit to Lizq Oasis and experience Oman like never before. Whether you’re drawn to the land, the learning, or the stillness, the invitation is open to reconnect with nature’s rhythm.
